Stolen From De Stijl: the autumn/winter collection by Darkroom

Friday 16 September 2011

London retailers Darkroom will launch their first self-designed collection this month, to coincide with the London Design Festival and London Fashion Week. The collection will include accessories for men and women, and products for the home, and takes its influence from the De Stijl art and design movement of the 20th century - with an emphasis on angular shapes, bold colour and geometry.

Called Stolen From De Stijl, the collection revives the colours, patterns and textures of the progressive movement, bringing them to life for a modern audience. Products range from tactile cushions and tote bags made from handprinted canvas to fine wool knit throws, hand-bound books and screen-printed wall pieces, and oversized ceramic plates.

The collection will be shown in-store within a specially created installation, and will launch on Monday 19th September 2011.
