A new exhibition of food design opens tomorrow at the Designhuis in Eindhoven. Curated by Marije Vogelzang (read our interview with her here), and organised by Premsala, Food Culture: Eating by Design explores the link between people, design, food and the origins of what we eat - with topics addressed spanning from global farming systems to the potential of laboratory-grown meat.

By including the work of Honey & Bunny, a food design duo who consider the history of industrially produced food such as fish fingers, Vogelzang hopes to broaden the visitor's perception of food design. “Although designers design for people, they often overlook the food that keeps us alive," she says. "Designing for food is an area where exciting collaborations are possible between designers, farmers, scientists, politicians and chefs.”

The show will include twenty projects from a range of international designers, photojournalists and artists including Marti Guixe, Peter Menzel, and Koen van Mechelen. Fragrance innovators International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. will also be exhibiting, providing an olfactory experience for visitors.
