Lasvit Liquidkristal by Ross Lovegrove

On show at Interieur 2012 in Kortrijk, Belgium, last month, Ross Lovegrove's undulating installation for Lasvit uses crystal panels to make visitors feel as though they are encased in a kaleidoscope.

Inspired by the fluid surfaces found in nature, Lovegrove challenged the Czech glass brand's engineers to realise a structure made up of textured panels which seem to shimmer as guests walk by them.

"There is a magic in glass in the way light and transparency are captured in the fusing process," Lovegrove said of the installation; "One moment liquid, the next solid, [it's] something that can be harnessed and predicted in the field between design, physics and technology."
